FOREIGN CITIZENS ARE INVITED FOR STUDYING Kyiv National Linguistic University is pleased to invite foreign citizens and stateless persons to learn the Ukrainian language and prepare for admission to Kyiv National Linguistic University or other higher education institutions of Ukraine. Our program allows you to choose subjects according to your field of study. The program is designed for full-time study over a period of 10 months. Invitations to study are provided by the Department of International Affairs from May 15th, 2024 to November 1st, 2024. We are happy to announce that the beginning of training at the Preparatory Department for foreign citizens of Kyiv National Linguistic University will start on September 1st, 2024. We look forward to welcoming you to our program and helping you achieve your academic goals. Preparatory Department for foreign citizens of Kyiv National Linguistic University was founded in 1979. Many students from all over the world, including the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the countries of Western Europe and the Middle East, the Republic of Turkey, etc. study there. More than 3000 students have received preparatory training at our Department for more than 40 years of its existence. The primary task of the Department is to teach the Ukrainian language to the foreigners and to prepare them for admission to KNLU or other higher education institutions of Ukraine. Admission to the Department is carried out on the basis of an official invitation issued by KNLU. Upon successful completion of training, students should receive a Certificate of Completion of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens of KNLU. Training at the Preparatory Department consists of two parts: the Ukrainian language training and study of general disciplines. The total number of study hours is 1800 hours per year. In the course of studies students of the Preparatory Department will have a chance to study the following academic disciplines: Ukrainian Language, Practical Phonetics of the Ukrainian Language, Ukrainian Literature, English Language, History of Ukraine, Economic and Social Geography of the World, Ukrainian Studies, etc. Duration: 10 months. Tuition fees: 52, 100 UAH Admission deadline: invitations for study are provided by the Department of International Affairs from May 15, 2024 to November 1, 2024. Academic year: September – June. Period of training: 34 weeks (2 semesters) STEP 1. INVITATION FOR STUDY In order to obtain an invitation to study at KNLU a foreigner should send to the Preparatory Department the following documents: English (download) Українська (завантажити) All documents (scanned versions in *jpeg or *pdf format) should be sent to the e-mail of the Preparatory Department: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or submitted personally to the selection committee of the Preparatory Department. After reviewing the abovementioned documents, the selection committee of the Preparatory Department will send further instructions to the foreign applicants. Please follow these instructions to receive an official Invitation for study at KNLU. The Invitation should be submitted to the Embassy of Ukraine in the country of residence for the purpose of receiving a student visa. When the invitation is ready, an applicant or a representative must pay a visa support fee, which is 648 UAH. STEP 2. APPLYING DOCUMENTS (after arriving) Upon arrival at Kyiv National Linguistic University, a foreigner should submit personally to the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens: 1) A document on the previous secondary education, legalized or apostilled depending on the country where it was issued (the original and 2 copies with Ukrainian translation and notarization in Ukraine). 2) A supplement to the document on previous secondary education, legalized or apostilled depending on the country where it was issued (the original and 2 copies with Ukrainian translation and notarization in Ukraine). 3) National passport of a foreigner or other document certifying a stateless person with a type D visa for countries with an entry visa, issued by Ukrainian consulates abroad based on invitations to study (3 copies of the original document with Ukrainian translation and notarization in Ukraine). 4) A birth certificate (1 copy of the original with Ukrainian translation and notarization in Ukraine). 5) A medical health certificate, certified by the official health authority of the country from which the foreigner came and issued no later than two months before departure for study in Ukraine, its translation into Ukrainian and notarization in Ukraine. 6) A document on fluoroscopy issued no later than two months before departure for study in Ukraine, its translation into Ukrainian and notarization in Ukraine. 7) A valid health insurance policy. 8) 12 photographs sized 3x4 cm, colored, matte. The documents specified in subparagraphs 1 and 2 of this paragraph have to be certified in the country of their issue in the manner that is officially applied in that country for such certification and legalized by the relevant foreign institution of Ukraine, unless otherwise provided by international agreements of Ukraine. The admission procedure will be completed after you sign an Agreement with the University and pay your full tuition fee for.
