
Kyiv National Linguistic University (KNLU) was founded in 1948 as the Kyiv State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages. Over the years of its development, the University has evolved into Ukraine's leading linguistic higher education institution. The University operates as a unique multilingual educational and research environment that promotes Ukraine's European integration through education, science, and culture. By combining a wide range of academic and research programs with a strong focus on labor market demands, KNLU ensures the training of specialists capable of working in a multicultural environment, adapting to global changes, and contributing to the sustainable development of the state.
Today, the University offers degree programs in more than twenty foreign languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Modern Greek, Portuguese, Czech, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Crimean Tatar, Azerbaijani, Persian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, and Hebrew. It provides a multidisciplinary education across the humanities, pedagogy, social sciences, and management and business fields. A well-developed infrastructure supports both fundamental and applied scientific research, while the University's academic and methodological potential fosters the transfer of knowledge and technologies that hold practical value for the country's education and economy. Concurrently, the University consistently advances international cooperation and academic mobility, strengthening its status as a national center with a global dimension.
Today, the structure of KNLU comprises five faculties: the Faculty of Oriental and Slavic Philology, the Faculty of Germanic Philology and Translation, the Faculty of Romance Philology and Translation, the Faculty of Tourism, Business and Psychology, and the Philological Faculty of Educational Technologies. KNLU trains specialists across three degree levels: Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD. The University offers preparation courses for the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT), the Unified Entrance Exam (EVI), the Test of General Academic Competence (TZNK), and the Unified Professional Entrance Examination (EFVV), alongside foreign language courses (English, Chinese, and others), professional development courses for academic and teaching staff, and a preparatory department for international citizens.
