The scientific activity of the University is carried out on the basis of the regulations developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine and the Regulations of KNLU. Among the main priority areas of scientific activity of KNLU, the following have been identified:

• development of fundamental and applied research to meet the socio-economic needs of the state;
• development and implementation of innovative technologies for the training and retraining of a new generation of specialists in social and humanitarian sciences (translators and specialists in foreign philology);
• maintenance of established international contacts and their expansion at the expense of grant projects from Erasmus+ European Studies and others with a special emphasis on the processes of European integration, which will contribute to academic mobility, etc.;
• training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel, organization of internships of scientific-pedagogical personnel in foreign partner institutions and with the involvement of specialists from EU member states, etc.;
• conducting scientific events with international participation;
• activation of scientific work of young scientists and students of higher education, motivation of students for scientific activity.

Kyiv National Linguistic University has a modern infrastructure for fundamental and applied scientific research and technology transfer, the results of which are of practical value to society and the country's economy.

Scientific infrastructure: 10 scientific schools, postgraduate studies, doctoral studies, 2 specialized scientific councils, one-time specialized scientific councils for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, 3 educational and scientific centers, the Scientific Society of students, postgraduates, doctoral students and young scientists of KNLU, scientific circles.
